Exporting Bibliographic Citations from GBS Databases

& e-Books to EasyBib

General Information

Not all GBS databases & e-books have this function. The number that do is increasing.

Databases and database articles on the LibGuides marked with the EasyBib icon support this feature: These resources can

export to EasyBib.

This one cannot

Exporting from the GVRL & General Reference Gold to EasyBib

To export the citation from an article, select “citation tools” on the toolbar.

Make sure you choose MLA 7th format.

Choose EasyBib from the list on the right.

Do not worry about the final form at this point. You can make needed changes in EasyBib.

Exporting citations from ProQuest Databases

To export the citation from an article, select “export/save” on the toolbar. Choose EasyBib from the drop down menu.

Choose only to export the citation itself (no abstracts, etc.). Make sure MLA 7th Edition is the format (it should be the default option).

Click “Continue” to export the citation.

Importing Citations into EasyBib

Choose to import without abstracts (this is the default).

Format and/or information may need editing

You may need to edit your citation. In this case, you need to add additional information to the date field and format it properly . You also should get rid of the url at the bottom.

Click on “edit” to begin.

Toggle between the article & EasyBib template to ensure information is correct. Change where

appropriate

Make sure “no” is checked for URL display

Make sure to save your bibliography under your school Gmail account

You do not need to create an account. Sign with your Glenbrook google account.

You can edit and add to your bibliography at any time.

Just sign in with your Glenbrook Google email.

Click edit to rename your bibliography, add more sources, or modify anything you’ve already saved.

You can access all of the GBS Library resources (including citation guides) from EasyBib.
