• Goal: All students reading and comprehending independently and proficiently the kinds of complex texts commonly found in college and careers.

Activity to understand comprehension of informational text

• Jigsaw (4 people per group)- Read “Learn About-Comprehension of Informational Text”

• Fill out your graphic organizer based on your part

• Share with each other in your group

Activity to understand comprehension of informational text

• Each group create 2 questions about the text (1 implicit/ 1 explicit)- record on strip and place in your envelope

• Discuss the answers to the questions in another envelope

• With your group, write a summary on the envelope of the text

Cross Walks

• Take a look at the crosswalk documents with your PLC content area

• Record and thoughts or notes• Keep document with PLC notebooks and record

any observations about Common Core.
