DESCRIPTION
SMRV Hss students formed a herbal garden at their school . This is a collabarative work of Grade 8 th students and National green Corp members of their school.They have created a wonderful garden at their school. Many visiters come to their school to visit the garden.

When we studied a topic on Herbal
Garden and its uses in our Science
subject, we came to know the uses of
herbal plants.But many of our students
don’t know the Herbal plants and the
uses of it. So we decided to visit a
herbal garden to know about them.
With our mentor teacher Mrs. M.Kohila
We told our plan to our Mentor
teacher Mrs.M. Kohila . She
guided us to visit a Herbal
Garden at Vivekanada Kendra
and to observe the herbal plants
and its uses.
After the field
visit, we decided to
grow a herbal garden
in our school campus.
Volunteers are
selected to maintain
the herbal garden.
We selected a
suitable place to
grow the herbal
garden in our school.
Then we plough the place and add vermicompost ( which is produced in our
school) on the soil.
Garden maintenance group was formed.
We bring some herbal plants from Vivekananda Kendra and planted at our
school.
We are watering the plants regularly.
Now the plants grow well. We fixed the name boards near each plants. This
made the plants idnentification very simple.
Our whole school studets watch the Herbal plants regularly and many of them
grow them at their home.
Many visitors come to our school to visit our Herbal Garden and appreciated us
for our good effort.
Herbal pillow
•Collect some herbs like Neem leaves , Thulasi leaves , Manjal,,
Nochi leaves, Venthayam ,ponnanganni ,Nellikkai , Rose flower.
•Make them dry under sunshade
•Then stuff them in a cloth and stitch it.
•Herbal pillow is ready to sleep.
Preparation of a herbal pillow
Deep sleep.
Breath easy.
Asthma is controlled.
Relief from cold and caugh.
Improves hair growth.
Gives coolness .
We had announced
about the Herbal
garden and its uses
in our school
assembly.
We gave a speech on Herbal plants and its
uses to other class children.
Web site and pages creation for uploading and
sharing their project to the whole world.
