Advisory Council.

In 2013, more scholars from Denver Public Schools qualified for DSF assistance than ever before. The foundation, which provides college scholarships and operates centers in Denver high schools to help seniors navigate the college admissions process, welcomed 1,160 new scholars into its ranks. The number represents a 32 percent increase over the previous year’s 878 scholars; the new scholars joined 1,750 prior scholarship recipients who applied to renew their status.

DSF expects to distribute around $4.5

million to its scholars overall, with

scholarships varying in amount based

upon the schools chosen by their

recipients. Over the years, the

foundation, which continues to work with

scholars as they pursue their degrees,

has seen four out of five of its scholarship

recipients graduate from college.
