CLUSTER OF EXCELLENCE MMCI
This building is the home of the Cluster of Excellence on Multimodal Computing and Interaction. Founded in 2007, it hosts currently 17 Research Groups that
work on algorithms to efficiently understand, process, search and store multimodal data. The budget ranges about 7 Mio EUR per year.
MPI FOR INFORMATICSFounded in 1990, about 180 researchers in 5 departments work on
fundamental research topics in the field of informatics. Highest citation rank in Germany. Promotion of young people (IMPRS und MPC-VCC)
MPI FOR SOFTWARE SYSTEMSFounded in 2004, two sites (KL + SB), currently hosts about 60
Researchers in 7 Departments. The researchers pursue fundamental research in the field of software systems
DFKIGerman Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.
Founded in 1988, the home of about 400 employees. Mostly applied research. 35 Mio € annual budget and 4 sites.

LEIBNIZ CENTER FOR INFORMATICSat Schloss Dagstuhl, managed by UdS. Center for international workshops
and seminars on cutting edge topics in computer science and related research fields. More than 2000 participants per year.
