Do you want to improve how you execute community based projects? This session will build upon a variety of case studies, principles, and practices. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how to: identify the appropriate community based opportunities, create projects and build partnerships, work with available tools/resources, and use design to bring the project to life.

DESCRIPTION !Ever wanted to complete a community or civic based project with your students that leaves a lasting impact? Interested in opening a dialog between your school and the surrounding community? Do you want to improve how you execute community based projects? !This session will build upon a variety of case studies, principles, and practices. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how to: identify the appropriate community based opportunities, create projects and build partnerships, work with available tools/resources, and use design to bring the project to life.

OBJECTIVES !1. FRAME We will frame the approach to community based project learning opportunities by sharing case studies and approaches that will help attendees identify how to complete similar projects. !2. BUILD Attendees will build a framework for a potential project while identifying the partners, resources, and tools in order. !3. SHARE Each attendee will share their approach with a group, collect feedback and then refine their individual frameworks. This framework can be used for future projects by the attendees.
