Hi everyone! I’m giving you your first ever project for CNC. For this project, you are to form a group of 2 and produce a graphical timeline and journal for the culture and civilization of your respective countries.

Wish you all the luck!

and… Satisfied! With our coffee piece of artwork. :P

How do we make this project?

First, we buy a lot of A3 papers.

First, we buy a lot of A3 papers. And some Nescafe.

Got ready some water..

Got ready some water.. and a tray!

Soaked the papers in water with coffee powder on the tray, and put them in an oven for 1-2 mins!

And.. We’re done!

What did I learn from this project?

Teamwork

I learnt to be able to worktogether in a group as a pairwhereby we have to meet upduring our free times to discussthe project. We also divide workequally so that we do not feelany heavy burden.

Understanding

I learnt to understand evenmore on the culture andcivilisation of Cambodia. Ialso learnt the history ofCambodia before it isformed as a independentcountry.

Project 2

Class, let’s do a runway show for your respective countries! Also, you have to make an interior model to showcase your understanding for the country!

Good luck, everyone!

When I hear this.. I was like…

What did I learn from this project?

Persistency

I learnt to be persistent because in thisproject, if you are not persistent enough, youwill fall behind everyone and might not be ableto catch up.

Consistency

I researched, analysed and built thisproject consistently for a month orso. I did not give up no matterwhat, eventhough there might besome situations where I amdemotivated.

Time ManagementI learnt to manage my daily and weekly scheduleproperly when doing this project. This is because Ineed to balance my social and working life. Thus, Ihave equal amount of time for working and socializing.Yay!

Patience

I learnt to be more patient than everwhile doing this project. This is becausethere were many mistakes done bymyself when I was cutting the brownboard such as cutting the wronglength, cutting slantly and etc. When Ihave done a mistake, I would have toredo the work all over again and that iswhen I train my conscious mind to bepatient.

Project 3

So, finally your last project. You guys are required to do a postcard series with a unique packaging for it. You have to come up with a theme and concept for your postcards. Also, you can take the pictures anywhere you want!

So, all the best to you all!

I decided on the theme and concept of “Façade Shophouses” as encouraged by Ms Ida, so I went about in Kuching and Pasar Seni in search for the perfect shophouse to snap a picture. :D

So here’s my postcard series and its packaging!

Learning outcomes?

Editing Skills

I have improved my editing skills bylearning how to use AdobePhotoshop. To make the postcards tohave the effect that I want, I edittedthe contrast, brightness, saturationand shadows of each picture. Thus myediting skills have drasticallyimproved.

Photography Skills

My photography skills have improved as wellwhen doing this project. I learnt to takepictures of the shophouses using façadephotography, which is in fact a new thing forme to learn. Through this project Iexperienced a unique photography skillwhich I will appreciate.

So.. I guess, that’s all! Thank you.
