Lz GrandersonThe Myth of the Gay Agenda

“Gay Lifestyle”

Capturing an Audience

• LZ Graderson captured the attention of the audience and kept the engagement of the audience by referencing things people can relate to creating a connection between the audience and the speaker. He got the audience's emotions involved in the presentation as well. He kept the audience interested with small jokes and his own anecdotes that he has experienced.

“Gay agenda” aka “US Constitution”

LZ & THE TED COMMANDMENTS

LZ connected with peoples emotions by giving the other side of the story and put it in a loving perspective. He showed his true colors as he spokeof what he was passionate about.

“Rights for who you are and not what you are”

Speaker Evaluation

• I feel the speaker, LZ Granderson, did well and I believe he deserves a 4 in terms of dynamism. I feel he could have added more character and more emotion in some parts of the presentation stressing the importance.

LIBERTY AND EQUALITY

Garr Reynolds

• RESTRAIN • SIMPLICITY• NATURALNESS

LOVE AND RESPECT

Nancy Duarte

• An idea is powerless if it is not shown or expressed. • Incorporate a story in a presentation• The hero is the audience and the speaker

FATHERLY LOVE PROHIBITED IN ADOPTION

Passion of Reality

Watching LZ’s presentation I learned that a speaker can move a crowd with emotion. Life anecdotes create a window that allows the audience to see the speaker in a greater light and takes them to another level of understanding because of relevance.

Equality of a Nation

Compare/Contrast

• Both LZ Granderson and Sir Ken Robinson used both personal stories about their sons to get the audience emotionally attached. They also used humor to keep the audience interested and entertained. Both speakers showed passion toward their themes. ‘

• Sir Ken Robinson showed more skill as he transitioned through his main presentation points smoothly. LZ had slight difficulty on the flow of his presentation but still got his point across efficiently. I believe that Sir Ken Robinson’s theme was more interesting and more unique than LZ because there has been less talk about it in the media.

Tips from TED

• Be assertive.• Create a presentation that will connect emotionally.• Humor is always a good thing.• Transitions are very important.• Be yourself.• Stay true to the Theme
