Introduction

The Purpose was divided in to two act. The central idea is that the aim of the

learning archery. Central theme:based on Adiparva of the

Mahabharata. Central characters: Eklavya Drona Arjuna

The Purpose

Eklavya He was the

protogonist of the play ‘Purpose’.

He was young prince of Nishada.

He becomes tragic hero of this play

In the Mahabharata Eklavya was the son of Hiranydhanus.

Who was king of Jarasandha’s armycommander and leader of the Nishadhas from Dronacharya.

A confederation of jungle tribes in ancient India.

Eklavya purpose is to save animals and nature.

When Eklavya enter in to the Ashram he expresses his felling with these words.

(looking all around him)This does look like the place mother spoke of: “A wide vast grassy play ground with bejeweled and beautifully dressed handsome young princes at bow sword and mace exercises…being taught their lessons by a tall and noble looking Brahamana”is how she described it! And it all fits in every bit!

End of the play Eklavya was whimpering the following lines hopelessly to him self:

“FORGIVE ME GURUJI I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING BUT YET,HOW COULD YOU! HOW COULD YOU I HOW COULD YOU!”

Best Archer Eklavya was the

best Archer, and he also wants to be become the best archer in the world.

Eklavya was self learner,he made idol of Drona and learn his own self.

Eklavya Daxina Tragedy aries when

guru Drona refuses him to teach, he takes Guru Daxina.

Because Drona had promises to arjun, that he would make him the gretest archer in world.

We can say that here in the play Kailasam tried to give justice to Eklavya character which is not there is in original myth, here he tries to destroy or break the real myth of Mahabharata.
