CHAPTER 7Preparing Students and Parents for a Differentiated

Classroom

WELCOME!

Parents and guardians,

I would like to welcome you to classroom 209.

Throughout this presentation I will explain to you what

our classroom will look like this year, for your child, by

implementing differentiation strategies.

WHAT IS DIFFERENTIATION?

A differentiated classroom provides different avenues

to acquiring content, to processing or making sense

of ideas, and to developing products so that each

student can learn effectively.

ABOUT DIFFERENTIATION:

The goal of differentiation is to make certain that

everyone grows in all key skills and knowledge

areas, moving on from their starting points.

I will closely assess and monitor skills, knowledge,

levels, interests, and effective ways of learning for

all students, and then plan lessons and tasks with

those levels in mind.

A goal will be set for each student to make them a

more independent learner.

PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND DIFFERENTIATION

This is an extremely effective way of learning.

However, it will be the most effective with your

support and help. Please leave your telephone

number and email address, so that we can maintain

contact about your child’s progress and setbacks.

THANK YOU!

Thank you for taking the time to view this

presentation. Please feel free to contact me at

anytime.
