ABOUT CDS Combined Defence Services Exam is conducted by UPSC
Held twice an year (February and August)
Two step selection process: Written exam followed by SSB Interview
Conducts recruitment for the following academies: Indian Military Academy Indian Naval Academy Officers Training Academy Indian Air Force Academy

ELIGIBILITY Nationality: A candidates must either be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or(iii) a subject of Nepal, or(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1963
with the intention of permanently setting in India.
Education Qualification:
(i) For Indian Military Academy/Officers’ Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics
and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering

ELIGIBILITY Age Limit, Sex and Marital Status:
i) For Indian Military Academy (IMA): Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1993 and not later than 1st January 1998
ii) For Indian Naval Academy (INA): Unmarried Male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1993 and not later than 1st January 1998
iii) For Air Force Academy (AFA): Age: 20 to 24 years as on 01st January 2016 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1993 and not later than 1st January 1998 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 1998 only are eligible
Note: Candidate below 25 years of age must be unmarried
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination.

HOW TO PREPAREHere are some tips for good preparation:
1. Buy the best CDS exam study material from the market. For this you can ask your friends and folks who have cleared this exam
2. Look for last year solved papers. This will give you a fair idea about the question paper and the type of question that are asked.
3. You can also join coaching institutes for the same. But even after classes you need to give self read. The combination of both will bring you good results.
4. Keep yourself updated with the current events and have knowledge about History of India, Geography of nature, etc. This will help in written exam and interview both.
