My mission is to

setup a

community

drive to collect

clothes and

other goods for

donation to

charity.

MISSION

STARTING UP My strategy to get support for the project was to create a

flyer that was easy to read and straightforward.

I stated a date for goods pick up and my contact

information on the flyer.

Any party interested had to take the initiative to get ahold

of me.

People who wanted to donate would send me their

addresses to be added to my list for pick-up day.

I chose Sunday, November 18th as my collection day.

FLYERClothes and Goods Drive

What is it?

A donation drive has been organized to collect clothes and other items for needy families in your community. Have you wanted to donate but have just not gotten around to it? Not sure where to donate? Contact me now and have your donations picked up from your house free of charge!

When?

The drive will be held on Sunday, November 18th. Be sure to be in contact before that date to have your address added to the route.

How?

Contact me at sara.forbus@maine.edu or call me at 207-431-8138 if you want to participate.

Remember any amount you donate is worth the effort. It’s all going to a good cause!

I gave flyers out

to my friends

and family to

distribute at

their

workplaces.

I also put a stack

at “The

Swap”, a local

consignment

shop which

also raises

money for

shelters.

STRATEGIES

REACTION

Participation was around what was

expected

RESULTS

My first attempt at an organized clothes

drive was a success

Several large bags of clothes and goods

were donated

People liked the idea and said they

would participate again

The concept I had

was simple

This can be done in

any town by any

person

It only takes one free

day and a little effort

to give on a larger

scale

Flyers are easy to

make and distribute

LOOKING FORWARD

CHANGES FOR NEXT TIME

I plan on having another drive next spring

Learning from the first attempt, there are many

ways to make it more efficient

More flyers handed out at more locations

More notice on the flyers (I had one week)

Add businesses as well as residential homes

TAKE AWAY Setting up a project like this can be

overwhelming at first

Once you get into it, becomes easy

Very simple idea can get you good results

Giving back can be fun

Personally rewarding to know you are helping

out.
