in  IUB’s  campus  housing  

•   Operated  by  IUB’s  Division  of  ResidenBal  Programs  and  Services  

•   System  managed  by  a  librarian  (MLS),  centers  supervised  by  graduate  

students  in  IUB’s  School  of  Library  and  InformaBon  Science.

•   OperaBng  hours:  Academic  year,  7  days  a  week,  5  P.M.  to  12  A.M.  2  

 

Patron-­‐driven  AcquisiBons  Reflect  student  interest.  A  high  percentage  of  selecJons  come  directly  come  student  requests.    Current,  Relevant  CollecBons  Know  what  you  do  best.    Seek  balance.  Remember  the  social  and    entertainment  needs  of  students.      Funding    Follow  the  money.  Speak  to  student  government  organizaJons  within  the  dorm  and  for  the  larger  campus.  They  are  seeking  ways  to  spend  money.    CulBvate  Community  Partnerships  Know  your  neighbor.  Get  out  there:  contact  campus  organizaJons  about  the  collecJon,  open  your  space  to  host  events,  and  talk  to  RAs.    Learning  Community  IntegraBon  Follow  the  theme.  Build  a  collecJon  that  supports  housing  themes  and  member  interests.  Know  your  patron  populaJon.    CommiXee  ParBcipaBon  Integrate.  Join  commiWees  and  seek  ways  in  which  the  library  can  provide  support.    Assessment  Know  thyself.  Constant  assessment  of  collecJons  and  services  is  required.  It’s  all  about  the  data.    Monthly  Programming  Get  creaJve.  Remember  the  social  and  entertainment  needs  of  students.  It’s  good  to  play.  Highlight  the  collecJon  and  sJll  have  fun.
