WHO Am I?Southern flyingsquirrels are smaller,measuring about 23centimeters(9in.), wilenorthern flying squirrelsare estimating, 30centimeters (12in.) inoverall with but they donot actually fly, thesesquirrels glide.

The early yearsNest are used bythe squirrels on adaily basis, wherevariouscombinations ofadults and youngmay share a singlenest, or as maternitysites, where a singlefemale will keep herlitter.

habitat SWEET habitatPine and hardwoodtrees providesuitable foragingand nesting habitatfor squirrels, whiledead trees, ratted“snags”, are alsoimportant nest sites.

The northern flyingsquirrel equals insize to a redsquirrel, and thesouthern species iscomparable to achipmunk, they havelarge, dark, bulgingeyes that are welladapted for heightvision.

Depending on thewind and jumpheight, the flyingsquirrel can glide forso waters or more,cannot fly instead itglides.
