DESCRIPTION
THE NATIONAL CREATIVITY NETWORK WEBINAR SERIES “RIPPLE EFFECT” The National Creativity Network explores ongoing possibilities around our national collaborations and follow-up on the ideas and energy inspired by the 2010 Creativity World Forum. We will examine some of the issues that were discussed at the National Creativity Network Launch and spend time exploring a sampling of the work happening around the nation. We will spotlight several projects focused on telling the story of imagination, creativity, and innovation in action. Sam Chaltain, will talk about the launch of his new Faces of Learning project which is a multi-year national grassroots campaign that seeks to build the demand for – and the capacity to foster – deep, meaningful learning for all people. The campaign will kick off in March 2011 in conjunction with the release of a new book in which 50 Americans – from students to social workers to the Secretary of Education – share personal stories about their most powerful learning experiences, both inside and outside of school. Sam Chaltain’s conversations with Sir Ken Robinson quickly zeroed in on the connection between learning and creativity, and Mr. Chaltain now speaks of learning and creativity as two sides of the same coin. Jean Maginnis and David O’Fallon will share their idea for how the National Creativity Network might join forces with the Faces of Learning movement to use video/audio to tell the selected stories of highly creative, passionate, risk-taking, playful people from each state in business, education and life and pull the two efforts together. We want to know how you think this might support your work.

It started with a Big Question…
“How might we support more creativity in learning, work and life to foster more creativity.”
All across America…
GOAL
…creative learning becomes a way of life!
To start, each state has its own local campaign
Great concept, but how do we get there?
BUT FIRST, WHAT ABOUT THE GROUNDWORK THAT’S ALREADY BEGUN?
HOW TO COMBINE EFFORTS?
• How might the NCN support more creativity in learning, work and life… so that every person is inspired to grow creatively?
• Faces of Learning 2.0 develops further into Stories of Creativity
• Collaboration combines ideas
• NCN suggests use of Celebrity Spokesperson from each state
• Add video storytelling capability
• Spark community connections to gather more stories about learning and creativity
What’s next? And what can you do?
