Portal Adoption in Higher EdPortal Adoption in Higher Ed

Campus Pipeline, a portal vendor that integrated with Banner, was a factor in Canisius selecting Banner in 2000. Campus Pipeline was “free”, and the Banner team (and many others outside Canisius) concluded that you get what you pay for..

2002-Campus Pipeline purchased by SCT and becomes Luminis. Luminis was not free. Estimated first year cost: $500,000

Portals widely adopted in higher ed: in Fall 2009, over 80% of private universities had a portal or had one under development (Campus Computing 2009).

CampusEAI Grant ProgramCampusEAI Grant Program CampusEAI is a consortium of over 250 higher

education institutions that focuses on portal and related technologies.

Canisius College awarded $1,027,500 in goods and services over a five year period toward implementation of MyCampus.

The College share will be $30,000/year.
