Presentation

Form 5 groups. Each group will discuss the preventive measures that should be observed to prevent further complication of disease or order of any reproductive organ. Then each group will write what they have discussed on a Manila paper.

Common Disorders of the Reproductive System• Sterility• Tumors• Cancer• Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)

Causes

• Sterility, tumors and cancer are caused by exposure to harmful radiation, hazardous chemicals, pollution, cigarette smoking, and drugs.

• Sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea and syphilis, are contagious.

Causes

• Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is considered a serious case of sexually transmitted disease. People with AIDS experience weakening of the immune system, which is the body’s defense against disease.

Tips on keeping a healthy body:• Eat less fat. Fats are found in red

meat, butter, oils, and ice cream.• Eat more foods high in fiber.

Unpeeled fruits and vegetables and whole grain cereals have a lot of fiber.

• Get more of vitamins A and C. Yellow fruits and green vegetables contain these vitamins. Milk, liver, and egg yolks are also good sources.

Tips on keeping a healthy body:• Eat vegetables in the cabbage family.

These include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts.

• Limit alcohol intake. Drinking beer, wine, and liquor can wear down the body’s defenses.

• Eat less-preserved foods. Fresh meats and fish are healthier than smoked and chemical-treated foods.

Tips on keeping a healthy body:• Do not overeat. Staying at your ideal

weight helps you stay healthy.

Some experts think that people who follow an anticancer diet has lesser chances of getting the disease. Scientists hope to learn more about how diet affects cancer. Someday, it may be possible to tell what kind of cancer is likely to strike a certain person.
