Enter your project address (e.g.: 3640 Investment Lane, West Palm Beach, FL 33402)

“Block Group” – 6th link down from top (Geography Code: 150)

Finding Poverty Rates By Census Tract– the table displays:

Total number of individuals: 4,931 Total individuals with income below poverty:

1,457

Finding Poverty Rates Now we have to calculate the poverty rate for

the Census Tract:

4,931÷ 1,457 = Poverty Rate of 29.55%

Not done yet…need to get the poverty rate for the Block Group!

Finding Poverty Rates By Block Group – the table displays:

Total number of individuals: 699 Total individuals with income below poverty: 193

Finding Poverty Rates Now we have to calculate the poverty rate for

the Block Group:

193 ÷ 699 = Poverty Rate of 27.61%
