Separated by crossing road , which brings great inconvenience for passing.
Located in rapid developing zone of Shanghai , the site is facing various challenges because of high density of the city and the complicated land use surrounded (residential , commercial , religious , canal). Design hopes to form a multi-functional "connecting band" by reorganizing stream of people, activities , landscape environment to better integrate the site into the city, becoming part of the city.
High-density urban construction , urgent demands for the site in the future.
No connection with the water due to the continuous flood control wall.

By changing the terrain , I create a band which connects four parts of the site and also forms ten program zones in the park to fulfill multiple demands.
The band not only can provide convenient path for people whether to passing through the park or get to the different program zones in the park, but also strengthen the site 's relationship with the surrounding landscape (temple&river).

THE POETRY'S RE-PRESENT
Poet expresses his auditory, olfactory, visual perception to nature in the form of poem. I picked four special fragments of poetry and try to use classical garden design elements to reproducing the artistic conception of poetry.

Because of different heat capacity , the breeze is easy to form between the mountains and rivers , in which the fragrance of peach blossom in the spring will more easily be perceived .

For me, the design of Chinese Classical garden is a process of experiencing . understanding, imitating and finally reappearing the nature. By managing the relationship between buildings, rocks, water and planting , I try to seek the harmony between human and nature in my garden design.

CONCEPT
By the using of "skyline" image and creation of productive landscape: paddy field , I hope this plaza can be the carrier of Hongqiao District's history and culture. Also , the landscape of paddy field can not only form active street space, but also be the symbolic fifth elevation in such a built-up area.

CENTRAL AREA IN TONGJI UNIVERSITY
Located in the center of Tongji University, the site is surrounded by grassy slope and river. Buildings around it include school canteen , library and teaching buildings, which make the place to be a gathering point for students. However, most staying activities happen on the grassy slope around the site. On the contrary, the site is more likely to be a passing path because of the negative interface formed by the 1.65m-high grassy slope.

Shanghai , as the China's economic center, millions of people come here from different provinces for working. These migrant workers usually rent rooms in "Linong ", a typical traditional community style in Shanghai. And our site is just one of these old communities. Because of busy working , migrant workers seldom have time at home to look after their children. Thus these migrant children's living condition becomes a serious social problem in Shanghai. In consideration of safety, these children can only play in the community.

CONCEPTION
Light, as the most sensitive element in Linong , I hope to reform the sunlight pattern in Linong (mainly the lanes between two buildings where most children play) through the method of landscape. I believe the design of light can be a sufficient way to improve Linong 's living environment. Thus , I proposed a reflection flowerpot system , which can be installed on the building to form a "green&shiny" elevation.

Devices are distributed according to the need of the lighting function. By calculating the angle for the reflection of the sunlight, several proper height for the devices are acquired. Considering the original form of the elevation and other functions of the devices including planting for the higher devices and storage for the lower ones, devices are placed at the pattern below.
