Your Vacation Guide to
SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO
The colors of the Southwest come alive in Santa Fe,
New Mexico. Rolling deserts are dotted with seasonal
blossoms that pop amongst sand tones. Desert
landscapes aren’t the only views, with lush forests of
juniper, aspen, and pine thriving and calling visitors
for a nature hike or outdoor adventure. With Santa
Fe’s high altitude comes 320 days a year of sunshine,
beaming across the terrain and soaking into its ancient
pores. The winter brings snowy topography and an
atmosphere perfect for skiing and snowboarding on the
mountain ranges. Whatever season, Santa Fe has an
adventure waiting.
Sister inns El Farolito and Four Kachinas offer two
distinct locations just two blogs from each other in the
downtown historic district of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
El Farolito’s eight unique guest rooms and casitas
allow relaxation in the privacy of your own room or
fresh air in the sun-dappled garden courtyards and
patios. The intimate lounge area features local art
and a wood burning fireplace for a cozy setting. With
six rooms, Four Kachinas is similarly furnished and
suited for rejuvenation and comfort. Both bed and
breakfasts offer proximity to several Santa Fe activities
and attractions, many of which we’ve featured in our
Vacation Guide for your convenience.

If you are seeking outdoor sports and activities to experience the peaceful
beauty of the area and breathe some of the cleanest air in the country,
Santa Fe has a lot to offer. Pristine forests in the Sangre De Cristo, Ortiz, and
Jemez mountains surround the city and the Rio Grande, Pecos, and Chama
rivers are nearby. There are opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers, skiers,
snowboarders, snowshoers, river rafters, fishermen, and horseback riders. You
can participate in these activities at your own pace or use one of the many Santa
Fe-based activity operators to organize a trouble-free outdoor experience.
Surrounding Santa Fe is a diversity of terrain unequaled by any other area of the
state. Nationally designated wilderness areas, including the Santa Fe National
Forest with over a million and a half acres of land, ring the city.

New Mexico is one of the oldest wine producing regions in America. Spanish
missionaries planted the first vines in the Rio Grande Valley in southern New
Mexico in the late 16th century. Today, wine grapes are grown in many small
family-owned vineyards mostly in the Rio Grande valley from north of Santa Fe to
southern New Mexico in the Las Cruces region.
