TEP RMR Study
• TEP operates its system to WECC / NERC Level C (N-2) criteria
• Studies for RMR analysis were done to WECC / NERC Level B (N-1) based on Biennial assessment
• Cases used in study developed jointly with APS, SRP, WAPA, SWTC
TEP RMR Workshop Presentation 3
TEP System
• TEP system historically has been voltage stability constrained– Local Var responsive units can be committed in
TEP load area to supply var support and lower imports as necessary
– Automated remedial action scheme that responds to selected single and double contingencies within maximum 0.7 seconds
• In future years we have identified thermal and internal voltage SIL constraints
TEP RMR Workshop Presentation 4
UES System
• This report does not address issues with the UES Santa Cruz County area
• TEP is extensively studying issues in Santa Cruz county as part of a separate study for the Commission
