JOY Rock Orill Oils NO.l0 and NO.50 conform to theabove specilications. NO.l0 is used when ambient ternoer-atures are below Ireezing and NO.50 is used when ambienttemperaturas are above freez inq,
Gesr Housing. The gear housing is serviced at the lactorywith grease and, based on interrnittent service, requiresregreasing only at normal overhaul periods. If it becomesnecessary to add grease before overhaul, add grease throughth~ pr~re grease fitting (see Fig. 2). Do not overgrease;this wlll. cause leakage 01 grease around the drum Ilange.Use a hlgh ternperature bearing grease, specificauons asfollows:

t.ubricetion ac Overheot. Al overhaul, elean out all oldgrease and Ilush plain ball bearings in a saíetv solventintended for bear inq cleaning. Double shielded bearingsshould nOI be flushed íor cleaning. II dirt or water isknown 10 be present inside the sh iclds, the beanng shouldbe replaced. When reassernblinq, pack grease around allball bearings and liberally coat gaar teeth 01 reductiongears. Alter assembly is completed, service rhe gearhousing with grease through the pressure grease fitting. One lb. 01 grease is sufficient lor correct lubrication ofsil gears and bearings.
OPERATION
Before Operetion. Blow out the air hose before attachingto the air inlet on the Pistonair motor. Pour a smallamount 01 rock drill oil into the hose be lo re attaching10 the air motor. This assures immediate lubrication ofworking parts 01 the motor. Air pressure should be 80 lbs.per sq. in. et me mectiine.
Operating Controts. AII hoisting and pulling operations arecontrolled wi Ih the thrortte' valve handle. Note that methr ot tle handle is spring loaded and will always return lo"off" whcn released. When lowering a load, the br ake canbe applied to aid in controllinq rope speed. To suspend aload indefinit elv me brake band can be locked on thedrum by locking down the brake handle. Rope wrnd maybe either over or under Ihe drum.
