Our mentees need a safe place. They need, like all
kids, to be heard. And most of all, they need self-
confidence. With Eye to Eye, they find not just a safe
place, but also a great place. And it’s fun! “Regular”
school reminds kids with LD/ADHD of what they can’t
do. With Eye to Eye, it’s all about can do.
Our mentoring movement is based on an after-school
program using a fun, art-based curriculum to help our
WHAT WE DO
Eye to Eye “Graduates” overwhelmingly report
increased self-esteem, a newfound ability to self-
advocate and a greater appreciation of how their own
minds work. The label? It will always be there, but
it’s now joined by a badge of distinction - being a
different thinker.
OUR OUTCOMES
mentees to discover and use their individual strengths,
value their own unique minds, and speak up for what
they need to succeed in the classroom.
of mentors strongly agreed that being a part of Eye to Eye helped them think differently about their strengths

86%of mentors felt that being part of Eye to Eye made them a better advocate for themselves as a student with a learning difference
WHO WE AREIt starts with a label: Learning Disabled. Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Too often, it also ends
there. That’s where we come in. As the only national
mentoring movement pairing kids with learning
disabilities (LD) & ADHD with similarly labeled college
and high school students, Eye to Eye encourages
students with LD/ADHD to become their own best
advocates and to embrace their unique way of looking
at the world.
Our mentors use individual and group projects to
guide their mentees to unearth their own potential,
in their own way and on their own timetable. Art
removes the mentee’s barriers to learning: there are
neither rules nor expected outcomes. Each mentee
learns his or her strengths and comes to value them.
They see that there are many ways to solve a problem.
Because they set their own expectations, they aim
high, and use their newfound skills and confidence
back in the classroom.
The mentors make all the difference. They are
empathetic, well-trained and deeply committed college
and high school students with LD/ADHD who have all
faced the same challenges as the kids they support.
Eye to Eye mentees see a hopeful future in their
mentors.
HOW WE DO IT93%of mentees reported that their mentor was the kind of student they wanted to be
At Eye to Eye we see a future where all people with
LD/ADHD take ownership of their labels and are
open about how their brains work. Our movement
is about not only growing a network of youth
mentoring programs run by and for those with
learning differences but also spreading awareness
and advocating for our schools, employers, and
communities to give us an equal shot.
This movement is made up of millions of actions that
may seem small but build to something great.
