One day, in the middle of the school day, all the teachers suddenly disappear, as well as everyone over 15.

POOF!

Everyone leaves. Sam, Quinn, and Astrid go to town to check if all adults are gone.

The adults are all gone. A fire has started in a house, and a little girl is in it.

Sam, acting on impulse, runs in to save her.

When he gets to the girl, she screams and lifts her hands. Flames spurt out at Sam.

Sam also lifts his hands on impulse, but he somehow causes the little girl to die. Now Sam is really scared.

Sam picks up the girl and jumps from window. He now has the respect of the whole town, but he doesn’t tell anyone about his powers.

Later, a group of kids from the school over the hill, Coates Academy, arrive in town.

Coates is a place where the worst of the worst go. A kid that calls himself leader, Caine, convinces the town to make him leader.

But when he kills a girl for demonstrating “Magic Tricks”, Sam realizes they know about the powers that some people have.

Sam, Quinn, and Astrid start sort of living together. One day, while they go to what’s left of the grocery store, they are attacked. They have to run away from town.

After living in the wild for a few days, Sam has gained control over his powers. He decides that they should take back the town.

They alert the kids from town to fight. As they are spying on Caine, one of his henchmen grabs them. He leads them away.

When they get there, Caine tell them about some research he’s done. He tells them that when kids turn 15, they disappear.

Caine tells them that he will keep them locked up until they turn 15, as Sam, Quinn, and Astrid are all 14.

Caine also tells them that the powers are all focused through the hands. He then dips Sam’s hands in wet cement, and lets it dry.

As they are locked up, they see about 10 other kids, all locked up and cemented. After some talking, Sam realizes they all have powers too.

After about 6 hours, they hear a bang. The ordinary kids have assaulted Caine, and broken everyone out!

The kids from town fight against the kids following Caine. But in the middle of the battle, Sam turns 15.

Time slows down. Everyone stops moving except Caine and Sam. They realize they are brothers separated at birth.

A vision of their mother appears. She tells them to grab her hand, and that they will exit the barrier.Sam and Caine say no.

Time starts up again. After this, Caine retreats, as he is losing. The kids elect Sam as the leader of the town, and the kids following Caine leave.

The kids have a big feast to celebrate their victory against Caine and his followers.

The whole town realizes they fought off Caine by themselves, without adults.

They learn that when you can’t rely on others, you have to make things happen.
