ISPM = International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures

Developed by the International Plant Protection Convention (under WTO)

by NPPOs

Facilitate development of pest prevention regulations by member countries

A Phytosanitary Measure

Must be technically justified (science)

ISPMs help harmonize measures

Improve trade flow

Reduce the spread of pests
