What Is The Difference Between Unsaturated and Saturated ?
Studies have found that these fats are
not created equally. “Unsaturated fats can be beneficial to your
heart, whereas saturated fats could
be detrimental to your cholesterol and
your heart.”(Moll,Jennifer)
Know the Different Types of Fat
Saturated Fats
– Foods high in saturated fats raise blood cholesterol.
• These foods include high fat diary (cheese, whole milk, cream, butter and ice cream), fatty fresh and processed meats and the skin and fat of poultry, lard, palm oil and coconut oil.
Unsaturated Fats
• Unsaturated fats (oils) do not raise blood cholesterol. They occur in vegetable oils, most nuts, olives, avocados, and fatty fish like salmon.
