What is a Best Work Sample?

Best Work Samples A “Best Work” Sample is an assignment, project

or test that reflects one of the following: Growth – sample shows how you’ve grown &/or

improved over time (i.e.. An improved grade or success in a class where you’ve struggled.)

Strength – reflects your strengths as a student Future Plans & Goals - sample reflects your future

plans after graduation (i.e. a project complete in CADD or Photography)

This includes due dates, requirements and forms.

Your Best Work

Should reflect a growth, strength or future plan Should be included on the Best Works Master

List If your Best Works is not on the list, you must

submit an approval form

BW Master List The Best works Master List, lists assignments, projects, etc

that are acceptable for use as a best work. Find your class and see if the assignment is on the list

2. Reflection Window

Reflection Windows A short reflective piece

that explains why you selected this sample, a description of the assignment and how the sample relates to growth, strengths or goals.

Each Best Work Sample must be accompanied by a typed “Reflection Window”

How to submit your Best Work

Due by 11:59 PM on Nov. 29th

no late papers will be accepted

Step 1

Log onto your Schoolloop account

WWW. PGHS.NET

Step 2

Click on the Best Works Reflection Window #1 Link under Current Assignments

Step 2 – Open the Reflection Window Template

Open the Reflection Window Template and type your information

Step 2 – Type & save your Reflection Window

Type your information & save it onto your computer desktop or documents folder.

•** IMPORTANT – you MUST save the file onto you computer by going to FILE – SAVE AS and clicking on My Documents or the desktop. If you just click the save icon or just select Save… the file will save in cyberspace

Upload your document

Click on the Drop Box Link

Upload your Reflection Window

Browse to your document and click submit. Make sure you see the “success” message

Important

Make sure you upload an RTF or .doc (especially if you have a Mac)

Be sure to upload to the correct dropbox – Portfolio 2016 - Best Work #1

You can upload at any time
