2017 Around The World Installation Gala The WVWC Chamber of Commerce held their annual gala themed 'Around the World’ Thursday July 20th at the Hilton Woodland Hills. In celebration of the prestigious board of directors, nearly 200 chamber and extended West Valley community members received a boarding pass to the fun‐filled evening featuring a cocktail party, programs and awards, dinner with wine provided by Malibu Family Wines and dancing with entertainment provided by Jazzy Boy Jeff Harris. The silent auction was loaded with great deals for the attendees. Take‐away gifts were provided by Andrea Volore of California Gated Estates and luggage tags by Sandy Rosenholz of Senior Resources. The honors and awards were this year’s Joseph Staller Memorial Award recipient Premier America Credit Union Warner Center. Ted O’Karma Chamber Board Outreach Chair with Columbia College of Hollywood was awarded Director of the Year and Ian Shrago of Havkin & Shrago Law, as the Ambassador of the Year and top contenders Sheryl Meherin Tratner and Lisa Haberman. Comedy and Connections The WVWC Chamber of Commerce kicked off the month of June with over 100 attendees at the Calabasas Country Club for their Comedy and Connections breakfast. The Chamber breakfasts are a great opportunity to get connected.
Millennial Mixer Going Strong The WVWC Millennial Professional Network “MPN” had a fun time at their monthly mixer in July at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Woodland Hills. The Millennial Professional Network aims to bring together a large number of Millennials from all professional backgrounds to network, learn new skills, and build relationships within not only their own generation, but also leaders within all generations.

Slusheeland Slusheeland owners Wendy and Hugo Garcia and their friends and family gathered with the WVWC Chamber for their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony in June. Kevin Taylor, at the far right, representing Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office came to support the new frozen treat location in Tarzana.

Valley Mega Mixer The United Chambers of Commerce sponsored the Valley Mega Mixer at The Collection at Galpin Auto Sports. The WVWC Chamber of Commerce members enjoyed participating in this annual event. The mixer is a chance to mix, mingled and connect with hundreds of business leaders and other chambers in the San Fernando Valley.
Facey Medical Group The WVWC Chamber of Commerce celebrated with Facey Medical Group Tarzana Clinic for their open house and ribbon cutting ceremony. Dr. Dan Lewis, ready to cut the ribbon, to present the clinic and its new on‐site lab and radiology services.

Beaver’s Den Antiques The community came out to celebrate with Beaver’s Den Antiques’ owner Barbara Beaver‐Cavaleri for her big 50th Anniversary celebration and ribbon cutting. It took place at her new location at The French Quarter in Woodland Hills. Beaver’s Den Antiques has been a member of the WVWC Chamber since1973. www.beaversdenantiques.com

The Coop Woodland Hills The COOP Woodland Hills owners, Jeannine Green and Carmen Capone, gathered with their friends, family and the WVWV Chamber for their grand opening and ribbon cutting in July. The Coop is a great play and party space for kids and adults.

New West Valley Swimming Pool The WVWC Chamber of Commerce and Councilmember Bob Blumenfield joined the Department of Recreation and Parks to celebrate the opening of the new swimming pool at the Woodland Hills Rec. Center. With record high temperatures in the West Valley, this pool is a great new way to stay cool and have fun with the whole family.

Adopt‐A‐School is a WVWC Chamber program that offers an opportunity for businesses to help provide essentials to the classrooms that are no longer budget line items for the schools. Money and donations from businesses can fulfill needs of the school that are essential to student development.

Blumenfield Hosts Planning 101 Councilmember Bob Blumenfield held another planning meeting at the Rose Goldwater Center in Woodland Hills. He presented in front of a large crowd some future plans for the West Valley area including a plan to stop illegal RV waste dumping. The WVWC Chamber Legislative Committee had two recommendations and two letters favored by the Board of Directors. The letters were about ordinance passage regarding Donation Bins and a request to partner in a “Think Before You Give” campaign and were sent to Councilman Blumenfield.

MEMBER ORIENTATION
We had our MONTHLY Member Orientation at the Chamber Office. New Members received hands on interactive training on how to use the Chamber’s robust online marketing tools. They practiced their best 10 second one liners for their business and also learned ways to make more connections. Member Corner Bakery Café in Woodland Hills sponsored the Breakfast.
