Reading‘

• Each child will read in a group with an adult twice a week.

Children will have 3 books to take home.

• 1) Library book

• 2) Scheme book

• 3) Guided reading book

Spellings‘

Spellings will start after the first half term.

5 spellings per week

Note: Same spellings may be sent home again if children are not applying to their writing.

Phonics‘

Phonics is the teaching of letters and the sounds they make.

Stream for phonics across lower school (Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3).

Children are put into groups and taught at their own level.

Homework

Home work will be given out 2 weeks before the end of a half term.
