Conclusion

The high palatability and highprotein content of Desmanthuscultivar JCU1 hay promotes intakeand liveweight gains.

Goats on the JCU1 diet had thehighest dry matter intake, crudeprotein intake, and metabolisableenergy intake, with saleable animalsproduced over the 138 days of thetrial.

Without the addition of cotton seedthe Rhodes grass hay and othersupplelemts were not able toproduce saleable goats in the sameperiod
