Technological Fraud Check - Random • Approval for the addition/modification of any equipment to
the bike, MUST be obtained from the Head Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes’ Briefing.

Athletes’ Lounge• Uniform + race gear check (name, country, logos, ITU
logo, zippers, race caps) – photos taken of each uniform.
Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ
• Body marking check (both arms, both legs)
• Swim cap distribution
• Timing chip distribution
• Leave your bags in the Athletes’ lounge (use race number bag sticker)
• Bags will be taken to recovery tent

Transition Area • Helmet check – Don’t leave your helmet fastened in the
transition
The athlete who do not comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.

Air horn
The race startsAthletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1.
False start procedure
False start Example: • Several horn blasts• Kayaks in front of you• Everyone goes back to her/his spot
Valid start but with early starters:• If someone starts before the horn and everyone
else starts with the horn, the false starter will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in T1. (During the time penalty athlete cannot touch any equipment!)

Bike course
• 5 laps of 4.2 km = 21 km
• Hilly with technical turns,
• Wheel Station (WS) - for location see the map:
• 1 Team WS• 1 Neutral WS• Lapped athletes are out of the race
• First runner / last bike scenario approx. 200m before end of lap
Run course• 3 laps 1,67 = 5,1 km

• Run penalty box is for infringements in Swim,T1, Bike,T2 and RunTransitions will be video recorded for infringements
• Location: 250 m before the end of lap (see map)
• Information: White board to show race numbers +code (Athletes need to read the board)
• Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run.
• If you do not stop it will result in a DSQ

Post race procedures
• Photo-finish• No congestion in finish area: go to mixed zone/recovery
area• For Top 3 and series leaders:
1. TV/Flash Interviews2. Medal Ceremony3. Media “Mixed Zone”
• Medal Ceremonies – after each event. Elite Women Medallists to VIP tent for special announcement.
• Dress “up” with race uniform (or country clothes) – coaches assistance needed. Ambush marketing rules apply
• Prize money will be wired transferred to the athletes
Ambush marketing rule
PLEASE OBSERVE THE AMBUSH MARKETING RULES
Ambush marketing is defined as:
“Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand.”
The consequence for this behavior is that the athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event, if any.
Post race procedures
Anti-Doping ControlPhoto ID is needed for every athlete to go for testing
Team Medical AccessTeam medical will only be allowed to enter the medical tent after ITU Medical Delegate’s permission.
Every NF can have 1 team medical accreditation. Team doctors should register with the ITU Medical Delegate!
Course measurement
• One accredited coach per NF is allowed to the course measurement session on Friday.
• All the coaches will meet at the coach area at the finish area.
• Coaches who want to participate must register with the Chief Run TO following the athletes’ briefing.
• Vests will be provided to these Coaches by Chief Run TO
• Time : WTS on Friday at 13:00 MRT on Saturday at 15:00 depending on races in progress.
