Most places on Earth have four seasons. In spring, the flowers bloom. In summer, days are longer and the temperature is higher. In autumn, leaves fall from the trees. In winter, a whole city could be covered with snow!

longer: is a form of comparative adjec-tive which used to compare two things. For one-syllable adjective like long, we use Adj + -er.
