WCA Floor Deviations

• Purpose: Impact/Benefits from lowering WCA Floor Elevations for April – October 2007

• Analysis performed using SFWMM in Position Analysis mode

• Base Case (Alt 0): April 07 Position Analysis with no additional demand management for LEC Service Areas

• Deviations: Base with lowered floor elevations in all 3 WCAs

WCA FLOOR ELEVATION ALTERNATIVES (feet, NGVD)

ALT-0 ALT-1 ALT-2 ALT-3

WCA-1 14.0 11.0 9.5 8.0

WCA-2A 10.5 10.0 9.0 8.0

WCA-3A 7.5 6.5 6.5 6.0

All alternatives propose a sloping floor elevation to provide a gradual transition from the baseline floor elevations to the specified floor elevations.

All alternatives propose a sloping floor elevation to provide a gradual transition from the baseline floor elevations to the specified floor elevations.

The baseline simulation (Alt-0) and the alternatives assume no additional demand management in the LEC Developed areas. In reality, releases from the WCAs have been terminated and are intended to resume only to help prevent saltwater intrusion into coastal wellfields (public health and safety). Thus the simulation results represent an upper limit of the likely WCA releases and the worst-case potential impact estimate for the WCAs.
