Share your passion for sport, develop your leadership skills and give something back to the local community with Warwick Volunteers. Warwick Volunteers offers the opportunity for members of sports clubs to volunteer together. We can help to support you by providing school and community contacts, providing financial contributions towards National Governing Body qualifications, reimbursing travel expenses, organising training sessions and processing CRB checks. One-off opportunities - Even if you’re short of time, there are many ways to join in without having to make a big commitment! For example, Warwick Snow got creative last year by helping children paint an Olympic mural for their school playground.
Longer term commitments - Over the last academic year many sports clubs have been active in the local community. The most popular activity is sports coaching, with several clubs running coaching programmes in local schools. Clubs have also developed links with local
charities, such as Warwick Polo helping children with disabilities learn to ride horses by linking up with Riding for the Disabled. If your club is interested in volunteering or has a great idea for a project, please contact Kim Waite on kim.waite@volunteers.warwick.ac.uk or go to www.warwick.ac.uk/go/shareyourpassion Student Sports Committee Want to get involved with running sport at Warwick, with great opportunities to meet people, to have responsibility for projects and budgets, gain vital experience in management and have a great time in the process. If so then why not look into joining Sports Committee, the committee responsible for helping run most of the above events and much more. Email sports@warwicksu.com if you are interested.
