Examples autonomous initiatives

- First commercial pilot starting during beginning of 2020 – transporting limestone within a open pit to a crusher, Brönnöy Norway

- Vera - transfer containers from a DFDS logistics centre to an APM Terminals port facility in Gothenburg

Step vice approach start with confined areas and ramp up the complexity. Timeline and roadmap NOT externally communicated, will be during each launch of new pilot and trail.

n Nanyang Technological University in Singapore – two generation 1 7900 Electric (RHD) with Volvo Group Autonomous Research Platform enabled for 3rd party development. Time frame 2018-2019

n FFI* – Autonomous City buses research project Volvo together with Chalmers Technological University – one 7900 Electric hybrid with Volvo Group Autonomous Platform. Time frame 2017-2020

n Drive Sweden KRABAT** – features as in “FFI – Autonomous City Buses” project with improved TRL level and public demo. Time frame 2017-2020

KRABAT - Autonomous city buses : Tree main use cases - Bus stop, Bus train, Depot process

Targets

n General The objective is to build up knowledge (theoretical and practical)by develop* automated driving of electrified buses.

* Research level, no production implementation

During peak hours connect two buses to operate in a train –increase passengers capacity, no extended time for intersections and stops.
