Incorporated in 1983, Vitrum & Glass benefits from itslong experience in the production of high quality insu-lated glazing units.

The company has gained a reputation for constant up-dating of its quality standards and the level of servicesoffered.

Automated and technologically advanced plants guar-antee high production capacity and unsurpassed qual-ity levels.

The first manufacturer in Italy to install a productionline for TPS® insulated glazing units, Vitrum & Glassinvests in R&D to experiment with new technologicalsolutions to offer products and services of the higheststandards.

Vitrum & Glass is specialised in the following IGUtypes:

• structural

• stepped structural

• with integral blinds

• large sizes

Vitrum & Glass in numbers:

• more than 150 sheet glass types available

• 3 automatic cutting lines for monolithic and lam-inated glass

• 2 IGU assembly lines

• 3000 tons of glass processed every year

• more than 50 daily shipments

Creating a synergic network with partners and suppli-ers and joining forces with the Glass6therm grouphave allowed us to develop and expand our know-how,enabling us to keep improving the services offered tocustomers.

VITRUM & GLASS

INSULATED GLAZING ASSEMBLYLINE WITH TPS® APPLICATOR

Vitrum & Glass boasts an IGU produc-tion line that incorporates the latesttechnological advances for the produc-tion of large-size, structural, stepped andsafety glazing units. The plant is alsoequipped with a TPS® applicator.

TPS® is today's most advanced solutionfor the latest generation of insulatedglazing units.

The TPS® or “thermal plastic spacer” iscomposed of a single polyisobutylene-based component with integrated desic-cant. The TPS® thus replaces conven-tional metal profiles, offering a significantincrease in insulating performance.

All the main certification institutes, includ-ing Ift Rosenheim and TÜV Rheinland, confirm the following characteristics:

• improved linear thermal transmit-tance (Psi value) by up to 57%

• improved temperature distributionon glass

• reduction of edge condensation ef-fect

• marked reduction of structural ten-sions acting on the glass

• efficient sealing that guarantees hu-midity protection and perfect gastightness

TPS® is currently used in millions of glaz-ing units installed in the most technolo-gically sensitive European countries, including Germany, Austria, and Switzer-land, and is suitable for residential andcommercial applications.

TRADITIONAL INSULATED GLAZINGASSEMBLY LINE

Vitrum & Glass constructs all types ofinsulated glazing with metal spacers, including large size units.

Top performing configurations use spe-cial glass to improve their thermal andacoustic insulation characteristics.

PRODUCTION

STRUCTURAL INSULATED GLAZING

Some applications require insulated glaz-ing units assembled with special struc-tural UV resistant silicone sealants.

These silicone adhesives are specificallyformulated for applications requiringhigh strength, in which the use of normalpolysulphide sealants would result in anunacceptable increase in joint dimen-sions.

For the construction of curtain walls, structural glazing units can be made withthe stepped assembly system.

For aesthetic reasons, glazing with prin-tedborders thatmask the facade frame isbecoming increasingly popular thanks tothe associated appearance of visual con-tinuity.

Holes can be drilled into the steppededge of the units to install handles or ac-cessories.

Each stage of the production process isperformed internally, with exceptionaltechnical mastery and flexibility.

GLAZING UNITS WITH INTEGRALBLINDS

Vitrum & Glass specialises in the manu-facture of insulated glazing units with theScreenLine® system, in which the blind isassembled inside the cavity between thetwo panes.

Operation of the blind, whether manualor electrical, has no effect on the insulat-ing properties of the unit and takes placein a completely sealed space.

Architects can select the most suitableglazing composition and ScreenLine®system for each project, whether resid-ential or commercial.

ScreenLine® blinds are available in threeversions:

• Venetian

• roller

• pleated

Main strengths of the ScreenLine® sys-tem:

• since it is housed in the glazing unitcavity, the blind never needs clean-ing, never gets damaged, and neverrequires maintenance

• protects from light and heat, offer-ing privacy with a minimalist stylethat respects and enhances a widerange of architectural settings

HAND-MADE INSULATED UNITS WITHSASH-STYLE WINDOW PROFILES

Vitrum & glass combines its technologicalexpertise with the artisanal skills offormer times to create profiles for the pro-duction of classic style insulated glazing.

PRODUCTION

CUTTING LINES

The cutting lines connected to the auto-mated warehouse allow us to processmonolithic and laminated sheets includ-ing very large sizes.

AUTOMATED GLASSSTORAGE SYSTEM

Our automated warehouse allows thestorage and handling of more than 150types of monolithic and laminated glass.

LOGISTICS

High production volumes call for a flex-ible and rapid logistics system that guar-antees total customer satisfaction.

Collaboration with specialised haulagecompanies is the gateway to building alogistics structure of modern conception.

The service is characterised by:

• care devoted to packing and trans-port

• logistical efficiency

• ample protected storage facilities

QUALITYCONTROLANDCERTIFICATIONS

Thanks to the complete in-house control of each stage of the pro-duction cycle, Vitrum & Glass can guarantee constant productperformance and quality levels in compliance with Europeanstandards.

The quality of Vitrum & Glass products is guaranteed by theISO 9001:2015 quality certification issued by Istituto Giord-ano and also by the insulated glazing units certificate of con-formity to UNI EN 1279:2004, issued by CSI.

Vitrum & Glass is equipped with a Spark-like® instrument for non-destructive andcalibrated measurement of the insulatinggas concentration in the unit.

With this system, the tests can be per-formed immediately after sealing of theunit and not only near the edges access-ible by conventional gas concentrationtesters.
