Principal’s Message Family Survey We very much value what our families are thinking about our school and district. Every spring, our Site Council administers a Family Survey. Both the staff and Site Council analyze the results in an effort to continually improve our program. This year, the Family Survey has been designed to provide us with information about our strategic objectives. Specifically, the Site Council is interested in gathering data related to our communication about student learning. In addition the district is interested in your thoughts on our “shared core values” in CFSD. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by April 24 at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VVSpring15 NEW this year….students from the grade level with the highest rate of return on the survey will earn a kickball game versus the staff, with the entire grade level cheering them on! If our school-wide rate of return meets or exceeds 75%, the entire school will get to cheer on the game AND enjoy popsicles while doing it! Thank you, in advance, for your feedback. Upcoming Events Friday, April 17 – 5:00-7:30 Family Evening of the Arts Wednesday, April 15 – AzMERIT Writing Test (Gr. 3-5) Tuesday, April 21 – AzMERIT Reading and Math Test, Part 1 (Gr. 3-5) Wednesday, April 22 – AzMERIT Reading and Math Test, Part 2 (Gr. 3-5) Saturday, May 2 – 2:00-5:00 El Día del Niño Carnival & Book Fair The Day of the Child (El Día del Niño) is a universal celebration that symbolizes the importance of being a child. It is a way to remind society that children have the right to an education, a home, daily meals, and most importantly live free of any abuse. We would like to celebrate our children by inviting family and friends to a joyous carnival at school. This will be our special day to celebrate how wonderful it is to be a child! Come enjoy outside water games, indoor carnival games, AND the grand opening of our Spring Book Fair! See the flyer later in this newsletter for more information. Friday, May 8 – 1:30 Musical Performance (Gr. 1 and 2) Thursday, May 14 – 10:00 Musical Performance (Gr. 3 and 4) Friday, May 15 – 1:00 Musical Performance (Gr. 5 and Show Choir)

The CFSD Foundation Annual Fund is $30,000 away from making its April pledge of $200,000 to the teachers of our school district. Please make a donation today to help us reach our goal.
Just a dollar a day from every family would have a huge impact in the educational lives of our children. 100% participation with $1 a day would generate $1.4 million for teacher development and teaching positions!
Donate today at cfsdfoundation.orgIt's easy to set up a monthly recurring donation on our secure site, or make a one-time donation.
