CEBT: The Virtual Incubator concept

Based on regional NETWORKING of universities, r&d

institutions and firms´ associations. Regional Administration promotes and co-finances

VALUE-ADDED SERVICES to individual incubators and

entrepreneurship programmes. COMMON services, procedures and assessment. Offering both OFF-LINE and ON-LINE services. Growing

importance of telematic services.

A part of a broader REGIONAL system to support the

creation of NTBFs ( ).

Link research centres with business sectors. Four main ways of doing so:

Creation of a “critical mass”

CEBT Action : Members involved (11)

CEBT Services : Policy improvement, awareness and detection of ideas

Policy improvement: Studies and action plans to improve internal NTBF policies.

Awareness: Seminars to show the way to commercialize research results and how the ideas have to be presented to the Institution.

Evaluation of Ideas: Ideas are evaluated and followed-up by each Institution.

Training of promoters: International training through Gate2Growth.

Training of entrepreneurs: to obtain a business plan (approx. 120h+20h of mentoring by professional consultants) and other specific courses.

Mentoring: Support to develop business plan, viability studies, etc.

IPR & Technology watch: Support by the Innovation Circles of the madri+d System, patents, etc.

Technology Transfer: Support through the IRC

CEBT Services : Pre-incubation (business plan and company creation)

Information and Documentation: Virtual services and assistance provided through madri+d, www.madrimasd.org/emprendedores

Coaching: Support to start of activity by experts

Search for financing: CEBT has no financial support for NTBF, yet actions have been launched to help NTBF find funds (agreement with CDTI-Neotec)

Search for space: Space identification besides space provided by incubators,…

Cooperation between entrepreneurs: Meetings of entrepreneurs besides each incubator,..
