Some people watch historic events unfold on television; others have the unique opportunity to be part of them.
Winfield's Larry Shively is one of the latter as he played an active role in the splashdown and recovery of the Apollo XV (also called Apollo 15) manned space flight to the moon.
In May 1969 Shively was still attending Winfield High School.
