Congratulations from Superintendent Devillier!
The Louisiana Department of Education released the Spring 2015 school district
and state data for grades 3-8 on Thursday, October 22, 2015. The Zachary
Community School District ranked first in the state with 59 percent of our students
scoring Mastery and Advanced!
"Our district has been built on a strong foundation of excellent educators and
students, involved parents and a supportive community. We will continue to focus
on providing a high quality education, while striving to always be a Model of
Excellence! I know that we will also continue to have high expectations for all
students as we move through this school year. As Superintendent, I will ensure that
we keep student learning as the priority in all planning and decision-making!"
Great things are happening!
Life skills can be yummy. Mrs. Kearney's Community Base Class @ CMES is busy learning life skills. The tastiest part of
this unit was creating pizzas! Yummy!

I think therefore I read. Ms. Marchiava and Mrs. Bollinger’s students steal every moment they can for reading, even if
that means spending a 1.5/2hr field trip bus ride reading their whole book. They love reading
anytime, anywhere!
Recognition of the Regional Veterans Memorial Association. The ZCSB recently presented the Regional Veterans Memorial Association with a check for
$500.00 out of the board members' courtesy account. The memorial park is currently being
constructed at the entrance of the fitness trail on Lane Regional Medical Center’s campus. The
park will honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served or are serving in the armed forces
of the United States of America. Those attending to accept the donation were Greg McDougall,
John Taylor, and Frank Ragsdale.

Jerry Boudreaux Academic Athletic Center to be named. On the occasion of the Friday, October 30, 2015 Zachary High
School football game, the Zachary Athletic Foundation, and
Zachary High School will unveil a new sign officially
dedicating our Athletic Administration Building to the late
Jerry Joseph Boudreaux, former principal of Zachary High.
The sign, funded by a recent fund drive of the Zachary Athletic
Foundation, officially names this wonderful facility, the Jerry
Boudreaux Academic Athletic Center. Jerry Boudreaux was
principal of our school from 1970 through 1995 and in his
remarkable life, was a community leader, educator, military
veteran, Rotarian, LHSAA Hall of Fame member, Jaycee,
Church leader, and volunteer for many important causes. He was a devoted husband, family
man, and legacy of serving and caring for students and the communities in which he
lived. Those of you who were part of Zachary High, during his tenure, will remember him with
great fondness. It is most fitting that our Academic Athletic Center is being named for him.
We invite you to be present at our Friday, October 30th football game in which we will unveil
the new building sign named in Jerry's honor during a half time dedication ceremony. Game
time is 7:00 p.m.
Is your class, group, or school doing wonderful things?
We would love to hear about it.
