Objec3ves • UNIMED, The Union of Mediterranean Universi3es, is an associa3on of 93 universités in 25 countries around the Mediterranean and beyond (www.uni-‐med.net ).
• UNIMED strives to develop teaching and and research coopéra;on in the Mediterranean region. It facilitates the access of its member universi;es to regional organiza;ons.
• Based on the exper3se in the network of its member universi3es, UNIMED may be considered as a university without walls serving the Mediterranean community.
Ac3vi3es UNIMED undertakes different ac;vi;es in favor of its member universi;es: • Promo3on of their interna;onal dimension; • Academic support in the establishment of new universi3es and facul3es; • Planifica;on et fund raising: informa3on concerning call for projects and
interna3onal programs, including those of the European Commisission, the iden3fica3on of partners, technical assistance, planning and dissemina3on;
• Promo3on of regional mobility; • Tecnical assistance in the development of quality assurance; • Building thema;c sub-‐networks to facilitate inter-‐university in specific domains; • Organiza;on of conferences, mee3ngs, as well as regional and interna3onal round
tables; • Training of teachers and staff in the management of interna;onal rela;ons
offices; • Research Center for Strategic Analyses of regional developments in the
Mediterranean region.

…In this evolving context, UNIMED-‐Mediterranean Universi3es Union (www. uni-‐med.net), founded in October 1991, has proven to be an effec3ve and reliable promoter of exchange and coopera3on between the universi3es in countries bordering the Mediterranean basin. Ins3tu3onal partnerships: Union for the Mediterranean
Accord signed in 2013 with the aim of promo3ng higher educa3on and scien3fic research, through:
• Strengthening coopera3on which strengthens regional and interna3onal ini3a3ves in favor of youth mobility in the Euromediterranean region;
• Suppor3ng ini3a3ves in favor of excellence in teaching and research;
• Improved synergy between ins3tu3ons of higher learning in the region.
Ins3tu3onal partnership:
Région Provence Alpes Cap d’Azur PACA Agreeement signed in October 2015 in order to:
• Strengthen the synergies between UNIMED academic staff and the Provence-‐Alpes-‐Côte d’Azur region in France;
• To coordinate lobbying ac3vi3es in European and interna3onal and organiza3ons;
• To share informa3on and publica3ons; • To benefit together from European and interna3onal projects ;
• To promote interna3onal mobility for students; • To promote research partnerships.
