Stimulate, encourage, and support research activities by exceptionally talented undergraduate students
Research with designated Beckman Mentors in chemistry, biochemistry, and the biological and medical sciences.
Benefits: $19,300 for two summers and one academic year of
undergraduate research
Participation in the Annual Research Symposium at the Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering
Beckman Scholars emerge as the top and most visible science students on campus

Intended for students who want to pursue a Ph.D. (Research Degree)
Eligibility: first-generation or underrepresented group in graduate education
McNair Scholars participate in an intensive summer research program

Two-semester laboratory course integrating chemistry, physics, and biology concepts
Equivalent to completing: BSC 2010L, BSC 2011L,
CHM 2045L, CHM 2046L,
PHY 2053L and PHY 2054L
Prerequisite for X-Lab I: High school algebra (or higher)
