UAE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION AT SMM
On 26th November 2015, St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Muhaisnah came
alive with the celebration of the UAE’s 44th National Day. The spirit of
nationalism reigned high at the institution and the entire school community
gathered to pay tribute to the UAE in the most befitting manner. The school was
decorated appropriately with flags and various red, green, white and black
festoons.
The special event staged on this occasion did awaken patriotism in the
hearts of the young students and
promote appreciation for the
meteoric rise of the country from its
humble beginnings to its present
stature.
All the staff and students of
SMM sported the colours of the
UAE national flag - red, white, green
and black - while some were in the
country’s traditional costume . The
programme began with the
National Anthem and a recitation
from the Holy Quran. The students
recounted the glorious history of
the country and the contribution of
the founding father Shaikh Zayed
bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the other
legendary leaders of the country.
They performed a traditional dance
to uphold the culture of the
country. A
quiz session
about the
UAE was
also
conducted
and the students cheered as they answered the questions aplomb.
The EYFS students also
paraded the grounds,
waving the national flag
proudly to show their love
for the country. Everyone
felt proud to be a part of
this happening country as
they waved their UAE
flags all through the programme.
The entire day was filled with
activities that kept reminding the
students about the significance of
the day. /JCL
