TYPES OF GRAPHS

Vertical Bar Graph

There are 4 main types of bar graphs.

The greater the length or height of the bar, the greater the value.

Horizontal Bar Graph

Bar graphs are usually used to compare numerical and categorical data.

Double or Group Bar Graph

Double bar graphs are useful for comparing data about more than one group or category.

Stacked Bar Graph

Stacked bar graphs can show segments of totals, but they are very rarely used.

Pictograph

Pictographs use picture symbols to represent statistical data.

Circle Graph/Pie Chart

Each segment in this type of graph represents a different category. The size of each segment is proportional to its value.

Line Graph

Line graphs compare two variables and are the most popular type of graphs because they are easy to read and create.

Multiple Line Graph

Multiple line graphs compare similar items over the same period of time.
