Beginning  Drum  Set,  Drum  Circles,  &  Drum  Making  Two  5-­Hour  Teacher  Workshops  for  Educators  and  Others  

Featuring  Educator,  Ethnomusicologist,  and  Roots  of  Rhythm  Author/Director    

Dr.  Craig  Woodson    

•   Take  either  workshop  for  $45.00  or  both  for  $80.00.  Free  to  LAUSD  teachers.  •   If  you  have  taken  a  version  of  this  workshop  before,  new  material  will  be  covered.  •   Learn  how  to  play  beginning  jazz,  rock  and  Latin  patterns  on  the  standard  drum  set.  •   Play  hand  drums  like  the  djembe  and  other  percussion  (all  drums  are  provided).    •   Join  these  two  types  of  drumming-­-­hand  drums  and  the  drum  set—in  drum  circles.      •   Make  a  simple  drum  set  that  can  be  used  to  facilitate  drum  circles  and  teach  drum  set.  •   Use  chapters  in  Dr.  Woodson’s  world  drumming  teacher’s  guide,  Roots  of  Rhythm.    •   A  Certificate  of  Participation  is  available  for  one  or  both  workshops  upon  request.
