Golden Gate Area Council• Golden Gate Area Council will go into affect June 1. • A merger of:

– San Francisco Bay Area Council – Mount Diablo Silverado Council – Alameda Councils

• Twin Valley’s programs and budgets will run parallel till end of the year • John C. Fenoglio will serve as the Scout Executive of the newly merged

Golden Gate Area Council in Pleasant Hill, CA. John most recently served as Scout Executive of the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council.

SFBAC Council Office and Camps• Closed since Tuesday March 17th • Office opening when Shelter in Place is lifted; current

Council Refund Policy• Revised camp/event refund policy related to events affected

by COVID-19. • Effective March 17th - Nov 17th • Refunds

– 2 weeks prior to event may receive up to a 100% refund. – 1 week prior to event receive a 60% refund. – Within seven days of the event there will be no refund

PAIA Early Bird Discount• The PAIA discount for timely submission has

environment. Ensure you always have two-deep leadership for online activities and meetings.

• Regularly review and implement the latest security features of your chosen platform to avoid unauthorized visitors or other security issues in your meetings.

• Do not record online activities/meetings that include youth participants.

New BSA guidance on advancement during COVID-19 This includes: • Time extensions for qualifying Scouts and Venturers working on the Eagle Scout. • Local councils have the authority to grant extensions through the end of September 2020. • The ability to accept electronic signatures for rank advancement and award applications

effective through the end of September 2020. • An option to complete Scoutmaster conferences via videoconferencing. • An option for Scoutmasters to allow time missed during the COVID-19 outbreak to count

toward requirements for participation and positions of responsibility.

Advancement Guidelines – Scouts BSA

Extension for Eagle Boards of Review for the Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts

• The period for boards of review will be extended from 10/1/2020-1/31/2021. • To further support the Inaugural Class, all boards of review will be dated with

the same date by the National Service Center. • The lengthening of the Eagle board of review window is applicable to all

Scouts who were granted the Inaugural extension, regardless of gender.

• Virtual Exploration Camp has been extended • Requires a good WiFi connection and

computer with audio and video capabilities. • Programs run from 9 AM to 3 PM • $40 per day
