Dave Wells sent in this photo and titled it “Snow Shovelers’ Challenge”! It has been a long winter but
now we have faith that Spring is around the corner! This Turning Point highlights both the Lent St. Dun-

Your Treasurers continue to be grateful to the parish for your generosity of spirit as well as donations. Our building expenses are a little ahead of the curve for obvious weather related reasons, and there is nothing we can do about that! We extend our gratitude to the snow shovel guys - imagine what the costs would be if we had to hire someone to do that work this year! Bless you, gents!
In faith and with gratitude,

LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD PANTRY NEWS
It is hard to believe but our month of may is right around the corner. Winter is giving up the grip
we have all experienced and the opportunity to celebrate by signing up for the many tasks to staff the
pantry is nearly here. As you know the month of May is St. Dunstan's month to provide all the support
that leads to serving the clients at the pantry. You will have an opportunity to sign up for picking up
food at Hannaford's, stocking shelves, helping clients, unloading trucks and sorting foodstuffs, and keep-
ing the pantry clean. Sing up will begin in early April so check your calendar and note the times on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings that you can help. There is something for everyone and the
work is very rewarding.
And speaking of Hannaford. Have you ever wondered how much produce and bakery goods they
donate on a monthly basis? In January 4,826 pounds were donated to the pantry. This saves the pantry
about $7,000 and provides the pantry with fruits and vegetables and baked goods that are difficult to
obtain at reduced costs. In addition 608 helping hands food boxes were donated. Hannaford continues
to be a very valuable resource to the pantry.
At this writing the March County wide food drive is underway. This is a major effort to collect at
least 10,000 food items which will be donated to the local pantry's and meal providers like our own Eve-
rybody Eats. This year the Maine Community Foundation and the United Way will match $1.00 for
each item collected up to 10,000. There is a box in the undercroft and the "Little Red Wagon" is avail-
able for your food item to help this program.
As usual if you have any questions be sure to ask either Harvey or me and we will be happy to
answer them.
