AnthonyColetti: Iwasleftwithacollapsedlung.Allthebulletswereprettymuchinsideofme.Ihaveeightinchgashonthebackofmyhead,sowhenIwentforthatdoublelegtakedown,IbelievehewasgoingforaheadshotandIduckedthebullet.IfIwouldhavebeenevenhalfaninchhigher,thebulletwouldhavehitmeinthehead.Ihaveaneightinchgashasitgrazedthebackofmyhead.WhenI'minthehospital,Ihaveaparalyzedleftarm,andacollapsedlung.
Thecollapsedlungendeduphealing,buttheleftarmdidnotforquitesometime.WhileIwasseeingdoctors,theybasicallytoldmethatIhavenochanceofmyarmhealing,andtheytoldmeifIwas13yearsoldandnot33yearsold,itwouldhavehealed.Iactuallyaskedwhat'sthedifferencebetweenmy13yearoldandmy33yearoldself,andtheymentionedgrowthhormone,andthatbecomesrelevantlateroninthestoryandhowIconnectedwithyouandBulletproofandhowIwasabletobeinthemedicalmiraclebooks,intermsofmyarmhealing,whichshouldhaveneverhealed.

JoeMartino: Yeah,absolutely.Iwasthatkidcomingoutofhighschoolthathadnoideawhattheywantedtodoatcollege.Iessentiallycometothepressure,thefamilyislike,"Gogetadegree."Forsomepeoplethat'stheirpath,andformeitjustwasn't,itwas,Iwantedtodothingswithmyhands,Iwantedtodothingsdifferently,Iwantedtodothingsmyway.Iunfortunatelycometothepressure,andIwenttocollege.ThatledmedownajourneywhereIwasfeelingreallyunhappyaboutthestateofmylifeandwhatIwasdoing.Ultimately,itledtoapointwhereIwasquitedepressed,Iwasfeelingreallydownaboutwhatthefutureofmylifemightlooklike,orcanIreallydothis,isthiswhereIreallywanttobe?
Throughthatexperience,Ihadalotofreflectivetime,whichultimatelyledmetodecidingthatifIwanttodosomethingforme,formylife,Idon'tknowwhatthatfuturelookslike,butIgottostartdoingthingsthatIlove,andthataremeaningfultome.IleftcollegeandIstartedtojustexplore,right?Onceyougetonthattempofreallylearningandexploringmoreaboutyourself,howyourbeliefsareformed,howyou'reideasweregenerated,howyourbodywere,allthisstuff.Youstarttoconnectwithadeeperaspectofthings,youstarttoconnectwithconsciousnessoryourownspirituality.LikeIsaid,thebeliefsandtheprogramming.Thatledmetothis…Sevenyearsago,eightyearsago,ledmetothispointwhereIwaslookingforthisinformationsomuch,buttherewasn'tatonofplacesthathadit.
