Refine skills you have. Learn new skills. Diversify your skills. Read… anything (newspapers, journals, books). Start or Finish your degree. Get certified. Ask questions.

for your accomplishments. Use time constructively (watch out for web surfing

and smart phone distractions) Take initiative. Stay busy. Be self-motivated. Be dependable. Be early or at least on time. Return phone calls and messages. Perform tasks well and in a timely manner.

Your job is not just a job; it is a major part of your life. If you spend 8 hours a day at your place of business

and somehow manage 8 hours of sleep a day, that means you are at work half of a normal waking day (other than days off). That’s a long time

to be unhappy.

Find JOY in your personal life. -Make time for friends. -Make time for family. -Get a hobby. -Contribute to philanthropic events. -Make time for what is important to you. Keep a balance (and a separation) between work and home.

Start by LISTENING to instructions or details of the

problem or project. Pay attention to the information relayed to you. Explain the problem and offer a possible solution or

solutions. Understand if your proposal is not accepted. Be willing to offer solutions again in the future

Offer to help coworkers… and mean it. Tell people you appreciate them. Don’t gossip or speak negatively about others,

especially if they are not there. Try to get along with coworkers, you may even

become friends. Get a mentor or mentor someone, especially when

they make a mistake.
