Congregational Care ministries at FUMCT offer a wide variety of service opportunities for you to be the hands and feet of Christ to members of our congregation. Opportunities range from sending greeting cards, visiting at hospitals or nursing homes, serving as a valet parker, helping during funerals, preparing meals to be taken to church members in times of
need, to becoming a one-on-one Stephen minister that provides ongoing care and support for as long as a congregation member needs it.
To learn more about ways you can participate in congregational care ministries, contact Susan Kizziah, Director of Congregational Care at susank@fumct.org.

Dr. Ken Dunivant, Senior PastorWelcome to First United Methodist Church. Whether you worship with us in Traditions or in The Bridge, we extend to you our warmest welcome. In 1818, people first gathered to form this church. Ever since, the de-sire of this church is to share the love of God through Christ Jesus.
This worship bulletin includes information for today’s worship service, and information and photos depicting how we are attempting to fulfill our mission: To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Enjoy the energy and excitement of this Easter morning. Then join us throughout the year as we make disciples and transform the world. Welcome to First Church! We are so glad you are a part of the service.
Up from the grave He arose! Christ the Lord has risen today! We express our joy and faith in the risen Christ this Easter morning by singing with great enthusiasm. God has been
good to you. Now, consider how you express that praise to God in the next week, in the next month.
Will you come to worship and experience the life-changing presence of God in the presence of others? Are you involved in the lives of others through one of the mission areas of the church?
Are you investing part of your paycheck to grow God’s kingdom? Are you telling your faith story to others so they will want to join you here at FUMCT?
Return to God in gratitude and thankfulness. And use your loud voice! —Luke 17:12-19

While our mission is to build life-long disciples for Jesus Christ, our vision for the ministry is to simply create opportunities for students to collide with Jesus through participating in youth small groups, Wednesday Night activities,
Sunday school, mission trips and retreats…and in their daily lives! We want to meet student where they are, build healthy relationships, and earn the right to share the gospel. By entering a student’s worlds through attending their
extracurricular activities and meeting them outside of the church walls, we believe that we will have the opportunity to share the love of Christ.
If you wish to learn more about how to connect in youth ministries, visit fumct.org/student-ministries or contact Kyle Collins, Asst. Director of Student Ministries at kyle@fumct.org!
FirstKids, First Church’s ministries for children birth through fifth grade, is excited to partner with you to help the children in your life become deeply committed Christians. From relevant and meaningful programs on Sundays and
Wednesday nights, to vacation Bible school and seasonal activities, it is our hope that families grow together on their journey to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Passionate worship is a necessity in a Christian’s spiritual growth. First United Methodist Church strives to create an atmosphere where you can worship freely and as you please. We offer four difference services of worship on Sunday morning. We have a contemporary service called The Bridge and a traditional service called Traditions that happen
simultaneously, but at two different areas of the church. We want you to worship the way you feel led to worship, and hope you find the opportunity here.

WELCOME Rev. Dan Kilgore PASTOR: Christ is risen! ALL: Christ is risen indeed!
CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP Easter Introit by John Ferguson
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN NO. 302 Christ the Lord Is Risen Today EASTER HYMN Stanza 1 Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia! Stanza 2 Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia! Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia! Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia! Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
*PASSING OF THE PEACE At the 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. services, children are invited to follow our W.O.W. Hosts to a children’s time of worship at W.O.W. (Wonders of Worship). You may pick up your children from the Courtyard where they will be releasing butterflies after the service.
ANTHEM Mary at the Tomb arr. Bradley Ellingboe Mary came, came very early, she found it empty and wept for the sorrow of it all. But an angel appeared before her, saying ‘Mary, Fear not! For your Lord is alive!’ Mary ran, told the disciples, but some doubted, when suddenly the Lord himself was there, saying ‘Peace.’
PASTORAL PRAYER
THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever. Amen.
*OFFERTORY HYMN NO. 307 Christ is Risen W ZLOBIE LEZY Stanzas 1 & 3 Christ is risen! Shout Hosanna! Celebrate this day of days. Christ is risen! Hush in wonder; all creation is amazed. In the desert all surrounding, see, a spreading tree has grown. Healing leaves of grace abounding bring a taste of love unknown. Christ is risen! Earth and heaven nevermore shall be the same. Break the bread of new creation where the world is still in pain. Tell its grim, demonic chorus: “Christ is risen! Get you gone!” God the First and Last is with us. Sing Hosanna everyone!OFFERTORY PRAYER

Be ye sure that the Lord he is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of His pasture. O go your way into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: Be thankful unto Him, and speak good of His Name. For the Lord is gracious, his mercy is ev-erlasting: and His truth endureth from generation to generation. Glory be to the Father; Glory be to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be: world without end.
